Global Warming
National Volunteer Speakers Network

Our National Volunteer Speakers Network includes over 250 citizens in more than 33 states available to speak at no charge about global warming pollution, climate change policy and the path to a clean energy future.

Over the last three years, our speakers have given nearly 1000 talks on college campuses, talk radio, at businesses, community centers, congregations and retirement communities, reaching more than 20,000 people.

Members of the National Volunteer Speakers Network range from engineers to songwriters, from college professors to business people. They are united by a belief that global warming pollution presents a very real and present danger to the health of the planet's human populations and natural ecosystems, and that the United States needs to take immediate steps to reduce emissions of greenhouse gasses.

A few of our speakers are climate experts; the remainder are educated citizens. All are committed to promoting open discussion and debate about global warming pollution policy in our country.

Upcoming Talks, Talk Reports, and Speaker Action

The National Speakers Network is a dynamic and ever-growing web of individuals who care passionately about stopping global warming through education and action. If you wish to become a part of the speakers network or would like a speaker to talk at your school, community center, church, or business, please contact us at helpdesk@greenhousenet.org.

The impact of the Climate Education Project is national in scope yet touches people on a very personal level to join the clean energy revolution. Please read the letter below written by a student at Spokane Community College to Julian Powers, one of our amazing speakers, after he gave a talk. It is a testimony to the incredible effect that these presentations have on individuals.

Dear Mr. Powers,

I was in Dr. Cosby's class when you gave your speech on Global Warming. I had prior to your talk not known much about the subject. You did a very good job of explaining the problem. I just wanted to thank you. I am very disturbed and confused. It seems to me and you answered this question when I asked that we are doomed. I was contemplating your figures and it seems to me that we are headed for a lot of trouble, wars could be started for resources, big migration shifts of people to better climates and so on. I'm very scared and I feel that in my lifetime (I'm 22) my generation will be dealing with the very things you talk about. I have a very strong feeling that this is coming and there is no way of stopping it.

In my opinion your are like Noah of bible. I'm not religious but in that story he told every one there was a flood coming and no one believed him. You are telling people this is going to happen. And I believe you 100%. After your presentation it is as plain as day to me that what you say is true. I will try to carry on this message but I think it's to late and people can be very ignorant. This has been on my mind since your talk. Please keep talking to classes because you touched me and hopefully you will touch others.

Thank you again.
