- Because Greenpeace has
identified global climate change as one of the greatest
threats to the planet we are campaigning for governments
to face up to their responsibilities and urgently
address this problem.
http:// www.sierraclub.org/globalwarming/
- The human race is
engaged in the largest experiment in history - an
experiment to see what will happen to our health and the
health of the planet when we make drastic changes in our
climate. This is not a controlled scientific inquiry. We
are gambling with our children's future on the results
of a massive change in the Earth's environment.

- National Global Warming
Coalition been a consistent, clear voice calling for a
REAL solution to the growing threat of global warming.
Today our coalition is made up of 27 member
organizations representing 320 groups from throughout
the United States, as well as many individual
supporters. All are united behind our demand that the
U.S. government embrace a real solution by adopting our
three policy goals - Ratify, Redirect, and Reduce.

KyotoUSA is a grassroots effort to encourage
U.S. cities and their citizens to take
action to end global warming. KyotoUSA
believes that the time has come for a
concerted effort by citizens and their
institutions to address global warming. It
is our hope that our local efforts will
encourage similar organizing and advocacy
efforts by people, businesses, large and
small, schools and local governments
throughout the U.S. Thanks to the efforts of
ICLEI Local Governments for Sustainability,
more than 150
US cities have already taken action to
reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Similar efforts by every city in the US will
begin to turn the tide. KyotoUSA is
working with the
City of Berkeley, California, and its
residents to officially endorse the Kyoto
Protocol. KyotoUSA intends to challenge all
U.S. cities, governmental and
non-governmental institutions, businesses,
and individuals to make similar endorsements
during 2005 and beyond.

climate shapes history. What is news is that the heating
