The Sustainable Energy and
Economic Development (SEED) Coalition is an alliance of
individuals, businesses, and organizations advocating
sustainable energy strategies for Texas, including the use
of renewables and conservation. SEED also educates the
public about the economic, environmental, and health
benefits of a sustainable energy strategy. SEED tracks
relevant policy-making and legislative processes and informs
the public of opportunities to voice their opinions.
Campaign Exxon is a religious
shareholder initiative to compel Exxon to take
responsibility for its role in the problem of global warming
and to make a serious commitment to the development of
sustainable solutions.
Loren Bell
(TX)

Loren is passionate about the natural world, and human
kind's relationship with it. He is an outdoor guide, a
Wilderness Ranger, a writer, and is currently a Crew Leader
for the Student Conservation Association. He has started
several bicycle transportation initiatives in Lubbock, TX,
and coordinated the 2003 Ride Forward!, a bicycle trek from
Texas to Alaska promoting sustainable energy and
transportation.
Loren received a BA in Philosophy with a minor in Ecology
from Texas Tech University. As a student he was active in
politics, ran several student environmental groups, was a
socially conscious columnist for the university paper, and
established the Student Sierra Club Tech Chapter.
James Pittman (NM)

James Pittman is
currently a student in the Whole Systems Design MA Program
at Antioch University and Executive Director of the North
American Alliance for Green Education, a consortium of
environmental colleges and organizations. In recent
years he has been a consultant on sustainability projects
and renewable resource education programs, in collaboration
with various organizations: the President’s Council on
Sustainable Development, the National 4-H Council, NASA’s
Sustainability and Global Change Program, the New Mexico
State Land Office, Cornell University and the EcoSage
Corporation. Prior to that he completed undergraduate
studies in Arizona at Prescott College, was a small business
owner and worked as a Field Manager on several canvassing
campaigns dealing with clean water issues.
Ingrid Rasch
(WA, NM)

Ingrid Rasch earned
undergraduate and graduate degrees in languages, education,
business and molecular biology, and has spent most of her
professional life as an executive in human resources. She is
currently SVP Human Resources for Stop & Shop Supermarket
Company headquartered near Boston, MA. Her lifelong passion
for environmental issues has increasingly centered around
maintenance of biodiversity-specifically predator as well as
prey species, habitat and wildlife restoration, and
watershed issues. Although currently a resident of the
Boston area, Ingrid still calls Seattle home and is also
active in New Mexico by virtue of owning conservation land
there, which is dedicated to habitat restoration.

with students around the State to educate others about the
